Buick Century Wiper Motor Replacement Instructions

Buick equipped the 2005 model-year Century cars with a two-pace, direct current motor to drive the windshield wipers. The wiper control module controls wiper motor speed by various the voltage going to the motor. Buick Century Wiper Motor Removal Instructions

1. Elevate the hood. Pull the washer hose off of the air intake grille nipple by hand. Remove the large plastic mounting screws with a screw driver. Take away the air grille retainer pins with the door trim pad and garnish clip remover.
2. Flip the ignition swap to the “On” position. Flip the wipers on with the wiper control switch. Turn the ignition switch “Off” when the wipers reach the bottom of their travel.
3. Pull the washer fluid hoses off of the wiper arm nipples by hand. Take away the wiper arm retainer nut with a wrench. Remove the wiper arm from the wiper transmission with the wiper arm puller.
4. Remove the water deflector retainer pin with the door trim pad and garnish clip remover . Remove the water deflector from the wiper motor.
5. Disconnect the wiper transmission arm from the wiper crank arm with the wiper transmission separator.

Buick Century Wiper Motor Installation Instructions

1. Place the new motor onto the management module. Set up and torque the motor retainer screws to 62 inch-lbs. with a 1/4-inch torque wrench and socket.
2. Place the control module and wiper motor in their recess. Snap the electrical connector into place by hand.
3. Install the wiper control module mounting bolts and torque them to 89 inch-lbs. with a 1/four-inch torque wrench and socket.
4. Place the water deflector in position on the motor. Set up the retainer pin by hand.
5. Install the washer hoses onto their nipples on the wiper arms by hand. Set up the air consumption grille and snap the retainers into place by hand. Install the three giant, plastic screws with a screwdriver. Push the washer fluid hose onto the air grille nipple by hand.
